COUNSELING
Counseling is the journey of having a professional understand you and walk through your challenges with you. It will involve establishing a relationship, beginning to consider options and choices that can be made, becoming comfortable with accepting feedback and challenges from the therapist, and learning to maintain the changes and progress made. Personal growth is always the goal of counseling.
- All therapists on staff are traditionally trained at accredited graduate schools and have a level of licensure with the State of Alabama. Each therapist has a personal faith background that can also be utilized in the counseling process if the client chooses to involve their faith. Sessions are typically 50-minutes and are scheduled at a frequency determined by the counselor and client. We offer traditional office counseling, telehealth counseling and in-home counseling (when appropriate or part of the referral).
We can address a range of clinical issues through the appropriate therapy approach. Therapeutic approaches often used are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy and other approaches as therapy deepens. No staff are trained in EMDR or advanced trauma at this time but will be in the future. Common issues addressed are listed below but services are not limited to this list:

Psychological diagnostic evaluations have a set fee based on the complexity of the evaluation, starting at $750. We cannot perform psychological evaluations for all needs. We schedule consultation sessions to help determine the need for the psychological evaluation when needed.
